Indonesia VS Philippines
We all know Indonesians and the Filipinos are the two groups of people that are into pageants way more than other nationalities. (Well in a way Thais are as well, but I don't understand any of what they're saying lol so I count them out) It's so often I come across the Filipinos and Indonesians bashing each other on pictures of either Miss Indonesia or Miss Philippines. It's sad just how people, because of their fanaticism, have been blinded to see what is okay and what is not.
Of course, we all want our delegates to win. There is a certain pride that comes along with the victory. But that doesn't mean that we go to the extend of bad-mouthing other contestants. I, too, am dying to see Indonesia win it all. But when I think about it, does bashing other contestants make our country any better?
I think we need to support each other. Support all the girls to bring out their A-game to make this competition even more exciting. I think we need to support the girl who deserves the crown, not based on their nationalities, but based on their competences.
Now let's check out the two nations' delegates for this year Miss Universe:

Now let's check out the two nations' delegates for this year Miss Universe:
Philippines - MJ Lastimosa
I think she is really pretty. Face wise, the strongest since Venus, hands down. I am so happy for her, finally she get to experience the spotlight after competing in Binibining Pilipinas in 2011 and 2012. I believe she is ready to fight it out for Philippines, like never been before. My problem with her, I just don't get who she is just yet. I don't really see her through. I find her answer for Binibining Pilipinas final question was just super boring, it was too pageant betty. In comparison to pageant-betty answers, look at Olivia Culpo's answer in Miss Universe 2012. It was very personal and it touched the hearts of the judges. And she won. What I think is, MJ needs to bring out more personality and shine more. Right now, what I am seeing is that she is resting on just her pretty face. Because face wise, honey she got it. I think this year Philippines' MJ is prettier than Indonesia's Elvira. (I know many many Indonesians will hate me because of this, but this is just personal opinion and that will not stop me from supporting my beloved Indonesia 110%). Oh btw, that hair is phenomenal, it almost look like a shampoo ad.
Indonesia - Elvira Devinamira
Indonesia is sending a young girl this year. She has a fresh personality and that is what I love about her. She seems to get along well with people and that is always a plus. However face wise and overall, she is a downgrade from Indonesia's delegate last year, the beloved supermodel, Whulandary Herman. To me Whulandary is one of the women who owns almost everything a queen possesses. Elvira is somewhat lacking that 'it' factor. She is pretty of course, but I don't know. Maybe she is young? Here is my personal opinion: I always prefer a 24 or 25 or 26 years old women to win because they're a lot more mature in life than girls who are 19 or 20. I hope that with Elvira, even though she young, she can come across mature and poised. And she needs to lose pounds in the cheek area and stomach. Well and arms and legs. Just 1 or 2 pounds each. AGAIN, guys, this is not BASHING Elvira, this is a message for her own personal good. I am dying to see Elvira PROVE ME WRONG. I want her to win this all the way. Untuk Nusantaraku, Indonesia.
